Chinyaradzo Children’s Home

The most precious things in life are those money cannot buy. One of the most precious things in any child’s life is the warmth and love that family gives. Unfortunately, there are several life situations that rob young children of their families and end up grow up as orphans or destitute.
Chinyaradzo Children’s Home established in 2002 has for the past fifteen years been giving children without families, families through housing in an orphanage, foster care and adoption. Despite several fundraising projects, sourcing and donation, funding remains a major challenge in promoting their noble cause. Environmental Buddies Zimbabwe Trust has come to the rescue of Chinyaradzo Children’s Home in a sustainable way of providing food.
Planting fruit trees at the Children’s Children’s Home, Tafadzwa Mudefi of Environmental Buddies Zimbabwe Trust, highlighted the importance of having trees in any homestead, for their food provision role in hard times as well as their nutritional benefits. Our children “own the future” and we need to mobilize and encourage them to directly take responsibility of planting food trees. Planting of adequate fruit trees will ensure that nutritional demands , food security, ecological balance and biodiversity needs are met.
Tafadzwa Mudefi  encouraged all the children housed at Chinyaradzo Children’s Home to love and nurture these trees that will one day become a source of food and livelihood to them and other people who will later join the facility, the same way they have been loved and nurtured in the home. Anchored at the tree planting, was how trees have been ignored and at times cut down yet they have so much to offer for humans.
“This tree planting should be an inspiration amongst the children to plant more trees and take care of the trees they already have planted.’
