Some read history, whilst others make history for it to be read.
6 July 2017, farmers from all walks of life converged at Rescue Shops of Mawanga Ward of Domboshava in a historical showcase of agricultural produce in an event marked as the ‘Domboshava Dry Show’.
Agriculture remains the mainstay of Zimbabwe’s economy. With this background the Domboshava Dry Show is an annual event that promotes Agriculture at both grassroot and commercial levels through competition of farm produce. Such is to help inspire members of the community to take up farming, at the same time challenging practicing farmers to produce more.

Gracing the 2017 edition of the Dry Show was Environmental Buddies Zimbabwe Trust, an organisation dedicated to the custodianship of the environment. Donating fifty (50) trees to farmers in Domboshava, Environmental Buddies Zimbabwe Trust founder, Miss Shamiso Winnet Mupara underscored the need for farmers to strongly partake in afforestation efforts, especially considering the vital roles trees play in farming.
Whilst so many trees have been cut down to clear land for agricultural purposes, the same trees help stabilise the soil, increase soil fertility and help in the reversal of effects posed by climate changes. Miss Mupara revealed that the organisation is pushing an afforestation agenda hence the need to partner with the farming community that have an appreciation of the importance of trees.
Mawanga Ward Councillor Mr. Ngwerume expressed gratitude to Environmental Buddies Zimbabwe Trust for their afforestation initiative in Domboshava, adding that Domboshava is ready to support the tree planting cause in an effort to restore the environment and for the agricultural benefits trees have to the farming community.
