Sizinda Secondary School Tree Planting and Textbook Presentation.
‘ I am pleased and honoured today to be part of a positive impact to both our natural environment and the sustainable growth of our communities through education and planting of trees.
The role that trees play in our lives cannot be ignored as they among a host of other things;
Providing shelter, protection to our homes, food for animals and humans alike, medicine and most important purify the atmosphere and global climate and atmosphere regulation. One large tree can supply a day’s supply of oxygen for four people.
In tourism we believe that there is deep connectivity between the people and its environment which leads to the attractiveness of a destination and why visitors will come back. This connection we witness through the return of Tourist visitors to assist and be part of developing communities that they will have visited. Natural resources we thrive on as communities and business in our country must be preserved and enhanced to continue to draw foreign visitors to us. Economic value and partnerships must be derived from knowing that the environment we operate has to be managed sustainably for future generations.
We must look beyond the current generation and leave something for generations we will not see just like we have had the natural resources passed on to us. As communities we need to be action oriented which means that part, we play should be visible in our actions and results.

Afforestation must be a walk of life which we breathe and live. The trees are life and are the lungs that the earth breathes through and without them as a people and our habitat we will cease to exist.
The efforts today by Environment Buddies Zimbabwe and Chikoro Africa form an important role in the goal of halting deforestation and restoring forests, as set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As players in Tourism, we continue to play a part in creating sustainable opportunities and support such organizations that focus on developing, sustaining and enhancing lives in the communities the businesses operate from.

Today we witness the handover of books which will go a long way in teaching our young generation how to best look after their environment in a scientific way and be champions of green living in our communities and the efforts by our visitors is applauded. Education will also assist alleviate poverty in communities and through tourism we are seeing the impact through the donation by our visitors by giving back into the community.
In conclusion, let us take a leaf from this occasion of planting tree and I challenge you all to be a part of a continuous program, celebrate birth with a tree and continue to plant even when one passes on, plant a tree to remember and celebrate the life of our loved ones and lets leave a legacy for the future generations .’
